- 2nd Shift in the Mobile, AL facility.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Positions work pieces for processing Operates a combination of different machines to process work by cutting, burning, sawing, blasting, shearing, punching, grinding, bending, or pressing. Uses gauges, calipers, squares, or rulers for measurement. Determines processing specifications such as materials, cutting tools, location of cutting lines, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences by reviewing blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions or other written specifications. Installs and aligns specified punches, cutting blades or other fixtures in machine bed using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, or hand tools. Adjusts controls to set cutting speed, depth, and feed rates; and diagnoses problems and makes necessary adjustments. Performs quality control inspections on finished product; for ISO-certified locations, performs In Process Quality Inspections Coordinates and executes material handling of all inventories to be processed including operation of overhead crane. Performs limited preventative maintenance, such as lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts. May train less experienced workers and perform as lead in absence of group leader. May mark identification on material/work pieces before processing. May mark material after processing; store material for additional processing and/or shipping. Restocks material. High school diploma or GED Minimum 18 years of age Measuring skills to read English & Metric systems, tape measure, caliper, gauges, or micrometer. Mechanical aptitude and arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions. Experience operating an overhead crane / forklift operator. Proficient in the use of hand tools including grinder. Computer Literacy; Microsoft Products, CAD Programming and ERP Organized with attention to detail. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen. Working Conditions Environmental temperature changes hot & cold Working inside and outside of an industrial warehouse Noise Vibration Oils, dust, fumes and metallic particles Day and night shifts Physical Requirements Occupation requires physical activity more than 66% of the time (> 5.5 hours per day) Stand, walk, sit, handling/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend. Lift, carry, push and/or pull 51- 100 lbs.
