Job Description

Job Title:
Blender Operator Job Description This role focuses on safely and efficiently loading, unloading, and blending products while maintaining strict quality standards. You will control the quality and storage of liquid products moving to and from tanks, railcars, and trucks, and coordinate operational procedures related to packaging and bulk materials. The position requires hands-on work in production, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lead others during rework and recovery activities. Responsibilities Load, unload, and blend products in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to quality and production standards. Control the quality and storage of liquid products moving to and from tanks, railcars, and trucks. Coordinate operational procedures for handling bulk materials and packaging activities. Coordinate and perform rework or disposition of damaged or non-conforming packaging components such as bottles and cartons. Manage the packaging quarantine area and lead the recovery team in handling, sorting, and disposition of quarantined items. Monitor inventory and assist with the disposition of damaged or nonconforming items, including leaking bottles and other non-saleable products. Transport products to the packaging quarantine area for appropriate disposal or rework. Drive a forklift or assist forklift drivers as needed to support production and material movement. Sort products to minimize the accumulation of salvage and reduce waste. Work closely with supervisors to prioritize and implement continuous improvement activities in production and packaging processes. Lead and oversee teams of temporary workers during large-scale dumping, rework, or recovery of finished goods projects. Maintain open and constructive communication with supervisors and managers regarding issues, progress, and opportunities for improvement. Adhere to established company values, policies, and standard operating procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety standards, including 6S methodology, to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Valid driver's license. Certified forklift operator with the ability to safely operate forklifts in a production environment. Experience leading and managing others in a production or warehouse setting. Proficient PC skills, including the use of MS Word and MS Excel. Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with co-workers and supervisors. Ability to effectively handle both group and individual work assignments. Demonstrated problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to understand written instructions and complete assignments efficiently. Good judgment and decision-making skills in a fast-paced production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, machine operation, mixing, blending, batching, or compounding environments. Work experience in chemical, food production, or related manufacturing operations. Hands-on experience operating blenders or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting. Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and supporting process enhancements. Comfort working with standard operating procedures and safety programs, including 6S methodology. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a production and blending facility that handles liquid products and bulk materials. You will work around tanks, railcars, and trucks, as well as packaging and quarantine areas where products are inspected, sorted, and reworked. The environment involves operating and working near machinery such as blenders, forklifts, and other production equipment. Standard work hours are aligned with production schedules and may require flexibility to support high-volume or large-scale rework projects. The facility follows strict safety standards and 6S methodology, emphasizing cleanliness, organization, and safe work practices. You will use computers and common software tools such as MS Word and MS Excel to support documentation and reporting. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety while performing daily tasks. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prattville, AL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
