Job Description

Job Summary This individual is responsible for setting up and operating Die Cutter graphic printing press to manufacture corrugated boxes. Reads job order and mounts specified rubber plate and printing dies on cylinder, installs cylinder on shaft, and secures assembly in bed of press. Duties and Responsibilities (essential functions)
  • Maintain safety on the machine
  • Perform preventative maintenance of the machine and communicate any issue to supervisor or maintenance.
  • Complete daily schedule.
  • Die Cutter press operators can mount printing plates and cylinders into the printing press and fill the dye font with ink.
  • Die Cutter press operators can mount cutting dies onto the press.
  • Operators feed the Die Cutter graphic press with the material that is going to be printed on, so they can lift boxes of materials that can weigh at least 10 pounds and weigh over 100 pounds.
  • Die Cutter press operators must to able to read job orders that give them specific instructions on what the printing should look like.
  • The operator is also responsible for cleaning the work area that surrounds the printer.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager as needed:
Raw or Finished Materials:
corrugated board (all styles and thickness), inks, soaps, dies and attachment dies
Tools and Machines Used:
tape measure, utility knife, inks, printing dies, cutting dies, hand tools, tape, glues, staples, air hose, PH meter, zahn cup, brushes, calculator,
PPE Hazards:
dust, cleaning solutions, cuts Supervisory responsibilities: None Job Specification
  • At least 2 years of experience of machine operation in a corrugated plant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Attention to detail is one of the most important skills a Die Cutter press operator should have.
  • Good math skills are essential to this job.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently without daily direct supervision.
  • Must be willing to maintain a strict adherence to all plant safety rules
  • Use and understand all other measuring tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with a variety of different people effectively.
  • Ability to be trained on the job and apply those skills everyday
  • Must follow all company policies and procedures
Pay:
$20.00 - $27.00 per hour
