Job Description

Saw Operator NWA Steel Co., LLC dba Alternative Design Manufacturing, a growing metal fabrication company located in Siloam Springs, AR is seeking an experienced Saw Operator to join our team!
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our production team. You will be responsible for interpreting work orders, preparing cutting equipment, and ensuring all materials are sliced or cut accurately and efficiently according to customer specifications by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Equipment Setup:
Adjust saw blades, guides, and stops to match exact measurement specifications.
Material Preparation:
Stage materials, inspect stock for defects, and arrange cutting sequences to minimize waste.
Operation:
Operate saws (e.g., band saw, circular saw, miter saw) safely while monitoring speed and tension.
Quality Control:
Use measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, rulers) to verify cuts and inspect finished pieces.
Maintenance:
Change worn blades, lubricate moving parts, and perform basic troubleshooting.
Workplace Safety:
Keep the work area clean, follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines, and report hazards.
Documentation:
Track completed jobs, maintain production records, and log material usage.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
Previous experience operating industrial saws or working in a manufacturing/metal/wood fabrication environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and cut lists.
Measurement:
High proficiency in accurately reading a tape measure and using calipers.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs.
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands & Work Environment Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel controls. Exposure to typical manufacturing environments including noise, vibration, and dust. Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and hearing protection.
