Packaging Job Purpose:
Operate and monitor the
CODI CCL-45
canning line to ensure safe, efficient, and high
  • quality sealing of cans while minimizing downtime and waste.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, start, and operate the
CODI CCL-45
canning machine according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor machine performance (throughput, fill/seal integrity, lid placement) and adjust settings to maintain target specifications.
  • Perform routine quality checks on filled cans (sealing integrity, code/date stamps, labeling) and document results.
  • Conduct pre
  • and post-shift inspections, clean and sanitize equipment per SSOPs, and report any deviations.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical or pneumatic issues; coordinate with maintenance for complex problems.
  • Manage can stock, bottles, lids, and empty containers to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
  • Ensure line safety practices are followed; use lockout/tagout procedures when required.
  • Record production data (counts, weights, downtime) and maintain accurate production logs.
  • Collaborate with QC, maintenance, and packaging teams to meet daily production goals.
  • Uphold food safety standards and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements (FDA/USDA, HACCP, GMP).
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or prior canning line experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating beverage/canning equipment or similar packaging lines.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to read gauges, measurement tools, and SOPs.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and sanitation procedures.
Skills:
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage repetitive tasks.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and line monitoring.
  • Effective communication and teamwork.
Physical Demands:
  • Stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally; bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.
  • Work may involve exposure to noise, heat, and cleaning chemicals; use of PPE as required.
Working Conditions:
  • On-shift exposure to a factory environment with rotating shifts (day/night/evening) as needed.
  • Regular cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance cycles.
Performance Metrics:
  • Line throughput and uptime.
  • Cans filled with acceptable seal quality and proper labeling/date coding.
  • Downtime responsiveness and first-pass quality rate.
  • Compliance with safety, sanitation, and GMP standards.

  • Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues; implement timely repairs or parts replacement.
  • Calibrate sensors and actuators; adjust control parameters to restore optimal performance.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and service records; document all repairs and updates.
  • Collaborate with operators to schedule maintenance without disrupting production.
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitization align with food safety standards post-maintenance.
