Blasting Technician Requirements and Competencies An ideal team player mindset: people smarts, humility and drive. No experience necessary. ATI is willing to train candidates with no prior blasting knowledge/experience. Must have a technical aptitude with previous technical experience preferred. Effective interpersonal and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate and be a productive team member. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize work activities, use time efficiently and work within deadlines. Exhibits a strong sense of urgency. Uses good judgment in decisions regarding process and problem solving. Ability to followed established methods and procedures and perform work accordingly. Blasting Technician Duties Reviews production traveler for specific work instructions and completes paperwork accurately to document completed operations. Counts incoming and outgoing parts for traceability and to ensure physical quantities match those referenced on traveler paperwork. Completes required documentation for non-conformance parts and removes parts from production. Visually inspects parts to ensure uniformity and to ensure any necessary masking is in place. Loads parts, operates machinery to blast parts according to customer specifications and/or work instructions, and adjusts pressure accordingly. Performs daily maintenance by removing media waste from machinery and disposing into waste drums. Loads media into machinery according to level of workload and machine requirements. Ensures all media particles are removing from finished parts by visually inspecting product and using high pressure hoses. This position operates Monday through Friday, from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional overtime and Saturdays may be required. Why join the ATI team?
