The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, extensive experience with various machining and fabrication processes, and a commitment to precision and quality. As a Setup/Machine Operator, you will be responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining a variety of manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient production workflows while adhering to safety standards and quality specifications. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where technical expertise and problem-solving skills are highly valued. Duties Set up and calibrate machinery including CNC laser cutters, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machines, and press brake equipment to meet production specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to determine proper machine setup and tooling requirements. Operate machinery safely and efficiently during production runs while monitoring for quality issues or deviations from specifications. Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to quality standards. Fabricate components using hand tools, welding techniques, sheet metal work, and fabrication tools as needed for assembly or repair tasks. Maintain accurate documentation of setups, adjustments, inspections, and production data in compliance with quality control procedures. Collaborate with team members to optimize tooling setups, improve manufacturing processes, and uphold safety protocols across all operations. Experience Proven experience operating CNC machinery including laser cutting, milling machines, lathes, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machines (EDM), and stamping presses. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, assembly, and tooling setup. Competence in using precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges for quality inspection purposes. Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure precise component fabrication. Experience with forklift operation and crane handling is preferred but not mandatory. Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements. Prior background in sheet metal work or metal fabrication is advantageous.
