!!! Job Description This role focuses on operating EDM machines to produce high-quality components in a manufacturing environment. You will set up and operate equipment, perform in-process inspections, and collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors to ensure product integrity and adherence to standard operating procedures. Responsibilities Operate EDM machines to generate precision components according to specifications and production schedules. Perform equipment set-up, including configuring machine parameters, tooling, and fixtures to meet job requirements. Conduct in-process inspections to verify part quality and ensure compliance with established standards and tolerances. Work directly with engineers and supervisors to maintain product integrity and ensure quality standards are consistently met. Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve process documentation, including work instructions and set-up procedures. Follow and adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistent and safe operation of equipment. Use microscopes to inspect components and verify quality during and after production. Use computers and Excel to document findings, record production data, and support machine set-up and process tracking. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvement opportunities. Support cleanroom or controlled manufacturing practices when required, maintaining a clean and organized work area. Essential Skills Minimum of 2-3 years of manufacturing experience, specifically in machine operator or technician roles. Hands-on experience operating manufacturing equipment, including EDM machines or similar production machinery. Prior microscope experience for inspecting components and verifying quality. Proficiency with computers and Excel to document findings, record data, and assist with machine set-up. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, and team members. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to established quality and safety standards. Experience working in a production or cleanroom environment. Capability to perform in-process inspections and maintain high attention to detail during machine operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience as a machine operator in SMT or similar electronic manufacturing environments. using SMT machines or performing rework in a production setting. Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and practices. Comfort using microscopes and other inspection tools for detailed component review. Ability to contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement efforts. Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn and adapt in a start-up environment. Why Work Here? The role involves regular use of microscopes for inspection, as well as computers and Excel for documentation and process tracking. The facility emphasizes adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, equipment safety, and maintaining an organized, clean work area, providing a structured and professional production setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
