Perform a variety of operations to grind, refine, polish and deburr surfaces of metal or synthetic. Knife (edge break) parts in the form of castings, machined parts and blanks. Uses belt sanders, manual blast equipment, abrasive wheels, buffing wheels and drill presses. Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant experience Ability to use carbide burr tools to remove excess material from parts without causing damage to part Understanding of production and plant processes Must be able to identify area of parts that need blending Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to complete acceptable amount of work with minimal rework Comply with all safety and health regulations Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area Operate machinery and equipment according to instructions and to ensure the quality of the product; troubleshoot issues and perform maintenance Qualifications Requirements Perform quality control to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers Ability to lift, push, pull or move up to 50 pounds Exposed to outside temperatures on a regular basis Must be neat and clean in appearance Possesses both written and verbal communication skills Maintains clean and safe working environment in-line with company policies Is consistently at work and on-time Should be a self-starter and possess initiative Preferred Skills Prior machine shop experience
