Machine Operator Job Duties include:
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Safely and efficiently operate and maintain concrete handling (Rekers) equipment.
Quality Assurance & Adjustments:
Inspect the quality of products according to standards and adjust equipment settings as necessary to ensure specifications are met.
Data Reporting:
Accurately record and report quality data, including measurements for moisture, density, height, and material consumption.
Mold Preparation:
Inspect and prepare molds for production runs.
Communication:
Update communication boards and actively participate in shift huddle debriefs to ensure smooth handoffs and operational awareness.
Setup & Clean-up:
Perform necessary machine clean-up, set-up, and functional adjustments associated with product changes.
Troubleshooting:
Detect and report any equipment malfunctions and quality issues immediately to the Plant Supervisor.
Production Support:
Assist in maintaining accurate production flow and reporting.
Operational Execution:
Execute Daily and Business fundamentals.
Training:
Be willing and able to cross-train on other aspects of the production process.
Other Duties:
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Supervisor, and Lead Machine Operator.
Machine Operator Preferred Skills include:
Certifications:
Technical or vocational school certification related to industrial maintenance or a similar field.
Equipment Specific Knowledge:
Prior experience operating equipment from manufacturers such as Tiger, Columbia, Rekers, Masa, Hess, and/or Besser. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
Machine Operator Requirements may include:
At least 3 years of experience operating similar industrial equipment. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Comprehension:
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as safety procedures, operating, and maintenance instructions.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Ability to perform job tasks that include extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, bending, and climbing. Ability to work both inside and outside, and perform tasks while using fall protection equipment. Able to perform job tasks in challenging working conditions, including areas that are dusty, hot, and/or cold.
Safety Equipment:
Must wear company-provided personal protective equipment (PPE) including earplugs, a hard hat, and protective glasses. Candidates must provide their own safety boots/shoes upon hire and will be eligible to participate in the Safety Boots/Shoe Reimbursement Program after 30 days of employment.
