Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Inspects systems work area for unsafe conditions. Operates system in a safe and efficient manner. Performs preventative maintenance and servicing of equipment as required. Ensures hazardous energy to equipment is locked out before repair or cleaning activities begin. Conducts System service, PM's and assists Maintenancewith minor repairs of equipment as directed. Sets up pack out equipment configuration as outlined on the production schedule. Operates and monitors finished product pack out systems and ensure that bag weights are within specification. Pack out systems may consist of manual, automatic or a combination of the two. Manual stacking is required on occasion. Responsible for maintaining packaging supply inventory within the production facility. Produces and loads matetials as established by the Leads/Production schedule. Legibily completes paperwork including batch records, plant orders, sample bags, inspection reports, etc. Keeps work area, warehouse and outside of plant in a neat and orderly condition following GMP guidelines. Advises succeeding Operator(s), Lead and maintenance of operating problems and conditions. Employees must learn and observe all applicable company policies and safe practices and perfotm all duties assigned by supervisor. This description covers the significant duties of the job. Other duties may be assigned as directed by the lead/plant manager.
Working Conditions:
Work is conducted in a controlled room with exposure to ambient heat/cold and noise. Exposure to vibrations, grease, oil, and powdery conditions. Plant system equipment is located on multiple levels and requires climbing stairs or stationary ladders to monitor and/or adjust operation of equipment or sensors. Noise level is moderate to high. Work performed on concrete floor or raised mezzanine. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Sitting 0%, Walking 70%, Standing 100%, Bending 30%, Stoop/Kneel/bend 20% and crouch/crawl 5% of time during the shift. Wet environment when washing parts or equipment.
Knowledge/Skills:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Technical school a plus. 3 to 5 years industrial experience or a combination of education and experience preferred. Willing and able to work and act safely. Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations that include the following: multiplication, addition, and percentages - all of which can be accomplished with the use of a calculator if needed. Good oral and written communication skills and speak and write English. Bilingual a plus. Must be able to read and comprehend company safety manual policies, operating procedures, SDS and various production schedules/reports in English. Forklift experience preferred.
Qualifications Required:
Must be able to operate automatic and manual packers, set bag weights, operate bulk bag filling station, operate forklifts, assist operator in monitoring automatic pack out system. Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise, service equipment, and clean the plant. Must comply with all company and GMP/FDA rules and regulations and complete annual GMP training. Assists in ensuring top quality housekeeping is maintained. Performs other duties as directed by the Shift Lead or Plant Manager.
