Job Description

Great temp to hire opportunity! Pridestaff is currently seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator for a steel manufacturing company located in Ontario, CA. This is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity. Company has great benefits and stock options once hired! Please see job requirements below to be considered.
Pay rate:
$18.00 to $19.50 ( Shift Premium of .75 cent shift differential)
Shift:
2nd Shift, 1:30pm - 9pm, M-F (must be able to work over time and Saturdays ) SUMMARY Under general supervision of a Shift Supervisor or Department Supervisor, incumbent will monitor 8 to 10 machines to ensure that the speed of the machine, load and output are accurate according to specifications. Measures the output to ensure uniformity. Records and reports discrepancies both in writing and verbally to supervisor and/or quality assurance personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Monitors up to 10 expanded metal machines to ensure output meets customer specifications. Regularly reviews the load and speed of the machine. Reviews actual output to ensure there are no deformities or discrepancies in the output, such as incorrect or broken strands, incorrect alignment, flakes, etc. Measures actual output for width variance, thickness variance and other non-conforming discrepancies. Works in partnership with quality assurance inspectors to review output. Completes control and non-conforming reports daily. Reports any machine malfunctions to supervisor immediately.
SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May load and unload material from machines May use overhead crane to move material within the production department. May drive forklift to transport material within the production department.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 1-2 years of Machine Operation experience or relevant related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, divide and use of decimals, fractions and percentages. Knowledge of Safe work rules. Ability to read, understand and use a measuring tape effectively Ability to read, understand and use a caliper/micrometer effectively (desired, but not required) High School Diploma or equivalent, desired, but not required. The ability to walk primarily on a level surface throughout the day. The ability to climb and descend stairs daily. The ability to bend, stoop, climb, push, pull, reach above, at and below shoulder and/or waist level. The ability to see to read from written documents and electronic means The ability to listen and hear to receive instructions speak on the telephone and hear safety/fire alarms. Finger dexterity necessary to operate buttons, knobs and toggle switches on machinery. The ability to lift up to 40 pounds without assistance; 50+ pounds with assistance. Benefits with
