Some machine operators will be responsible for one function of the job, while others will be responsible for a variety of process steps, which utilizes different equipment. We have 2nd shift 3PM start time / 3rd shift 11pm-7:30pm Essential Duties and Responsibilities Measure and inspect products with precision tools in order to ensure that certain products meet pre-determined quality and cosmetic standards Need to keep track of the number of units that are scrapped due to various errors. Expected to meet production quotas Keeping one's work area safe and clean Requirements Be able to work in an environment where teamwork is important Capable of lifting 50 pounds Primarily do work on their feet while using tools to perform repetitive actions for an 8-10-hour shift Use of basic tools Ability to work with hot plastics Ability to perform other duties, as required Job Summary We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented Mixer Operator to join our Plastic Packaging Production team. In this essential role, you will operate and monitor mixing equipment used to prepare plastic resins, colorants, and additives for extrusion, molding, and other packaging‑production processes. Your mechanical aptitude, commitment to quality, and adherence to manufacturing safety standards will help ensure efficient, consistent, and compliant production. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast‑paced environment dedicated to producing high‑quality plastic packaging solutions. Responsibilities Operate, monitor, and adjust mixing and blending machinery to prepare plastic resins, compounds, and additives according to production specifications. Qualifications Prior experience in plastic manufacturing , chemical mixing , industrial production , or related environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of manufacturing safety standards such as
GMP , OSHA
requirements , and chemical‑handling procedures. Mechanical aptitude with experience operating, adjusting, and troubleshooting industrial equipment. Understanding of material‑handling practices, including powders, pellets, and liquid additives. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow precise formulas and maintain accurate records. Basic math skills for measuring materials, calculating ratios, and verifying batch quantities. Ability to operate forklifts or similar warehouse equipment; certification preferred. Familiarity with extrusion, molding, or compounding processes is a plus. Follow detailed batch formulas and production instructions, ensuring accurate measurements, material ratios, and mixing times. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas in accordance with
GMP , 5S
, and facility sanitation standards. Handle raw materials such as resins, pellets, powders, color concentrates, and chemical additives safely and efficiently. Conduct routine inspections of mixers, blenders, and related equipment; identify mechanical issues and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Adhere to all safety protocols related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and PPE usage. Complete required production documentation, including batch records, quality checks, and material usage logs. Assist with material staging, loading, and movement throughout the facility; operate forklifts or pallet jacks as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, and safety.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
