This role is vital in industries ranging from automotive and medical to consumer goods manufacturing.
Core Responsibilities Machine Operation:
Sets and monitors machine parameters such as temperature, pressure, volume, and cycle times according to blueprints or work orders.
Production Monitoring:
Continually monitors the machine during automatic or semi-automatic modes to ensure efficient operation and minimize waste.
Quality Inspection:
Performs visual and gauge inspections of finished parts to detect surface defects, flashes, or dimensional inaccuracies.
Material Handling:
Loads raw plastic powders or pellets into hoppers and may mix coloring pigments according to specific formulas.
Secondary Operations:
Uses hand tools (knives, trimmers, or cutters) to degate and trim excess material from molded parts.
Equipment Maintenance:
Performs routine cleaning and basic maintenance of molds and machines, and reports major malfunctions to maintenance technicians.
Documentation:
Records production data, cycle times, scrap counts, and downtime in daily logs or digital systems.
Requirements:

Technical Knowledge:
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and safety regulations.
Mathematical Proficiency:
Basic arithmetic for calculating production rates, ratios, and weighing compounds.
Manual Dexterity:
Skill in using hand tools and maintaining a steady grip for extended periods.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 30 lbs. Work Environment Operators work in manufacturing facilities that can be loud and involve exposure to heat and moving mechanical parts.
