•$30.00 per hour (DOE) Position Summary The Plating Technician is responsible for performing chemical processing operations in accordance with company procedures, customer specifications, Nadcap requirements, OEM standards, and FAA regulations. This position involves preparing, inspecting, processing, and documenting aircraft components while ensuring all work meets established quality standards. Responsibilities Inspect, clean, mask, and prepare aircraft components for cadmium plating and other chemical processing operations. Perform chemical processing including hard chrome, sulfamate nickel, and LHE cadmium plating. Verify parts meet processing requirements before, during, and after plating. Work collaboratively with platers, planners, inspectors, and laboratory technicians to ensure production schedules and quality requirements are met. Accurately complete work orders, travelers, picture sheets, bills of material (BOMs), process logs, and other required documentation. Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and quality standards while handling chemicals and operating plating equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and report equipment or process issues to supervision. Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with quality management systems. Knowledge & Skill Requirements Must be a U.S. Person or U.S. Citizen due to ITAR requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Prior hands-on experience performing chemical processing within an FAA repair station or aerospace manufacturing environment. Knowledge of plating procedures, inspection methods, chemicals, tools, and materials used in aerospace applications. Ability to identify various plated surfaces, inspection stamps, and processing requirements. Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical documents, work instructions, and engineering specifications. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to move throughout the facility and safely lift up to 50 pounds. Thorough understanding of certified plating methods, process limitations, and aerospace quality standards.
