Summary:
Under the direction of the Lead, Supervisor or Manager is responsible for operating one production line specific to the department assigned. Will be responsible to set up ready for production and ensure the commodities produced are within Mariani quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
3 to 6 months Operations or Food Manufacturing Experience. Must pass the Mariani CCP and Food Safety exams. Ability to complete all operator paperwork with strong attention to detail. Accountability # 1 -
Operation and Production:
60% Sets up assigned production line for operation in allotted time. Assist in setup/operation/relief for other production lines in same department. Starts, stops, sets up, and cleans machinery according to operational requirements. Performs daily line inspection and reports any issues found to Supervisor, Maintenance technician, and in Redzone. Follow up reports to ensure maintenance tasks are completed. Oversee line production run ensuring that customer specifications are met, including: Fruit/Material requirement Coding is in the right location and in the proper format. Pallet tag and placard information match product descriptions. Keeps Supervisor or Manager informed of any issues with production run. Keeps in contact with Maintenance crew of any repairs needed to prevent down time. Track productivity of line including spillage, throughput, yield, and any other critical parameters. Properly reports Downtime and materials used to Production Control and in Redzone. Complete the Manufacturing Orders timely and accurately for the items produced. Report productivity to Supervisor or Manager on a regular basis. May handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally. Maintains correct product availability to line operations per the product packaging specification. Will not mishandle equipment in any manner. Must ensure all Line staff is following production specifications. Must always follow GMP's. Follows all written SOP's. Perform basic sanitation when needed (must be trained on chemicals prior to use if applicable). Performs proper cleaning when changing product runs. Keeps work area clean and orderly using appropriate cleaning utensil. Cleans up production area and elsewhere at end of shift as directed. Accountability # 2 -
Food Safety and Quality:
20% Responsible for Food Safety and Quality. Promotes a food safety culture by ensuring GMP's are adhered to, and Food Safety measures are complied with on a daily basis. Enforces food safety and sanitation regulations, in compliance with FSMA, to ensure that product safety and quality is maintained on their line. Responsible for reporting potential food safety hazards (i.e. roof leaks, unsanitary conditions, GMP violations) and communicates to their Lead or Manager. Accountability # 3 -
Communications:
20% Ensures clear and timely communication within department and with other departments to maximize plant efficiency. Communicate well with maintenance staff to correct issues. Communicate well with QA staff to maintain quality standards. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Keeps the management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during routine activities and actions being taken to improve the situation. Accountability # 4 -

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area, this includes following written procedures for safe handling and use of chemical compounds. MUST follow all Label requirements when handling, storing, or using chemicals. Must be familiar with safe machine operations where machinery must be cleaned while running and follow lock out/tag out procedures as required. Must wear proper PPE for the different tasks performed.
