Tasks description - Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Read and understand daily production schedules and material requirements.
- Transport needed packaging materials to the production area.
- Set-up and operation of packaging equipment with correct materials and products based on order specifications.
- Meet daily production requirements.
- Perform periodic quality control checks to ensure the product is packaged according to customer requirements (including checking end and back seals and date codes).
- When changing product varieties, follow pre-set guidelines and change out filtering screens based on product variety/size. Set, adjust, and periodically check the product flow through a foreign materials machine. Check the magnet for any foreign materials and document and report as required.
- Accurately complete and maintain required documentation on product, materials/supplies, output, and machine downtime.
- Troubleshoot minor packaging problems and make appropriate adjustments to equipment.
- Communicate with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Comply with company safety policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills, including touch screens
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory, and management personnel.
