Job Description
Compounder (2nd Shift) Job Description The Compounder plays a key role in producing high-quality food, flavor, and fragrance products by accurately measuring, mixing, and processing raw materials according to established batch instructions and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This 2nd shift position works in a cross-functional, team-oriented production environment and focuses on maintaining strict quality, safety, and documentation standards throughout the compounding process. Responsibilities Retrieve raw ingredients from designated storage areas and verify their identity and accuracy before use. Accurately measure ingredients using scales and other measuring devices in accordance with standard batch instructions. Mix various ingredients to produce liquid and powder batches using homogenizing and spray dry methods of compounding. Identify solid ingredients that require melting and safely melt them using hot plates and other approved equipment. Identify ingredients that require dilution, dilute them appropriately, and record all raw material usage in the required documentation. Maintain quality standards by verifying the weight and contents of raw materials prior to and during production. Conduct in-process batch inspections to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications. Document all process events, including ingredient usage, batch parameters, and any deviations, in accordance with procedures and policies. Follow detailed batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes and other substances into the equipment. Check for consistency between batches and measure the viscosity of mixtures to confirm they meet product specifications. Collect samples from each batch and deliver them to the laboratory for testing and quality verification. Follow food safety guidelines and GMP protocols at all times, including proper sanitation practices. Maintain accurate documentation of all work completed, ensuring traceability and compliance with regulatory and company standards. Handle and blend raw materials safely and efficiently, minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage and handling. Adhere to all safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe operation of production equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional team members to support production schedules and resolve issues that arise during compounding. Maintain a clean and organized work area, supporting overall facility cleanliness and hygiene. Consistently follow company policies and procedures related to production, quality, safety, and documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.
