This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. Click here to learn more. Job Description The Machine Operator is an important member of the team that builds our products. This position produces high quality linear energetic product in accordance with specific engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions. Machine Operators are responsible for safety, quality and delivery of products for our Aerospace and Defense markets. This role will report to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location on second shift.
Responsibilities:
Perform fabrication of linear energetic product as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using both machinery and tools Operate machines that load, swage, draw and form linear energetic product Operate machines that extrude and braid protective layers over linear energetic product Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil and pack product Maintain quality and accuracy requirements
Requirements:
Must pass aptitude test Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment; Energetic and positive; Ability to work independently High School diploma Minimum of 1 year of applicable work experience Ability to read and understand written instructions in English Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives Must be able to pass company administered competency test Demonstrate capability to use basic measuring tools (caliper, micrometer, etc.) Background using 5S/Lean Manufacturing principles (preferred) The physical activities of this position include work lifting up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, talking and hearing.
