These are long term opportunities with potential for temp to hire. These positions are on the day shift 7a-3:30p. Pay rates range from $19 - $21/hr depending on experience. Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Operator sets up, operates, and maintains automated machinery to place electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). They ensure high-quality, efficient production by loading components, monitoring machine performance, performing inspections, and conducting routine troubleshooting, often requiring specialized training and keen attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities Machine Setup & Operation:
Set up and operate SMT pick-and-place machines, printers, and reflow ovens according to production schedules. Component Loading:
Replenish components (reels/feeders) and solder paste, ensuring correct part placement. Quality Inspection:
Inspect completed PCBs for defects (e.g., misaligned parts, solder bridges) using microscopes or Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) tools. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning nozzles, calibration) and troubleshoot minor machine errors. Documentation:
Maintain production logs, including machine settings, output quantities, and defect reports. Required Skills and Qualifications Education:
High school diploma or GED certificate. Experience:
Previous manufacturing or electronics assembly experience (specifically SMT). Technical Skills:
Proficiency in operating automated machinery and familiarity with electronic components. Abilities:
Excellent manual dexterity and sharp eyesight. Certification:
IPC-A-610 or IPC J-STD-001
certifications are often preferred. Common Equipment Used Pick-and-place machines Screen printers and reflow ovens. AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems. Microscopes and hand-soldering tools.
