Job Description:
Hiring four (4) Computer Operators to support mainframe data center operations for a Federal Government Customer.
Core Responsibilities:
Contractor will perform operational support duties, including but not limited to:
  • Operating and maintaining high-speed laser and impact printers.
  • Managing printer supplies, paper replenishment, and media handling.
  • Executing job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting within
TSO/ISPF
environments.
  • Processing and managing report distribution.
  • Providing operational support and assistance to Production Control staff.
  • Computer operators will be responsible for operating high-speed laser printers, impact printers, and bursters within the mainframe data center.
  • Duties include setting up printers based on instructions from mainframe computer consoles, loading paper, toner, and developer, and promptly removing and organizing completed print jobs for customer distribution.
  • Operators must communicate directly with mainframe operating system or printer maintenance contractors whenever there is a system or printer malfunction.
  • Operators are also responsible for unloading boxes of paper and forms as needed for print tasks, and for maintaining a clean and organized printer area by removing empty printer boxes, toner containers, and loose paper.
  • In addition, operators will support the Production Control staff by submitting, scheduling, and tracking jobs using JCL within TSO. They will notify the baling room when recycle bins are full.
  • Lead operators will perform the same duties while providing leadership on shift.
Shift Schedule:
Coverage is required Monday through Friday across two (2) daily shifts, each staffing two (2) operators, with one operator designated as the Lead for each shift: Shift 1: 7:00 AM
  • 3:30 PM (2 Operators, including 1 Lead) Shift 2: 3:00 PM
  • 11:30 PM (2 Operators, including 1 Lead)
Pay:
$28.94
