Job Description
Machine Operator Machine Operator/Slitting and Punching 2nd Shift Summary If you have experience with operating safely and efficiently while producing quality products based on customer requirements - then Ensinger is for you! Ensinger processes high performance engineering plastics in our North American headquarters located in Washington, PA and four additional US production facilities. Globally, the Ensinger Group is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of compounds, semi-finished materials, composites, technical parts and profiles made of engineering and high-performance plastics. With a total of 2,900 employees at 35 locations, the family-owned enterprise is represented worldwide in all major industrial regions. In this role, the Slitter/Punching Operator is a person who is responsible for operating slitting machines, which use a series of rollers and blades to cut large rolls of paper or plastic into smaller rolls and punched parts machines, which use dies to produce finished parts. Slitter/Punching Operators must know how to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process so that production can continue without interruption. Key Responsibilities Regular and consistent attendance Interact in a cooperative and professional manner with other team members, supervisors, customers and vendors even in difficult situations. Utilize open, two-way adult-to-adult communication. Supports achievement of company business plans, strategies and objectives by coordinating the use of shared resources with other departments and locations. Ensuring tasks and documentation are completed neatly, completely, accurately and timely. Being cooperative, flexible and open to change to ensure a "win/win" outcome. Promote exceptional Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication with carriers, vendors internal and external customers in order to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs and ensure product quality and services are never compromised. Providing the safest workplace possible where individuals feel a personal sense of responsibility for maintenance needs or unsafe practices, following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards in warehouse locations, and maintaining a neat and clean work environment free of hazards. Properly, efficiently and accurately set up, start and operate equipment. Understand sales orders and customer requirements to ensure delivery of quality products. Capability of meeting production demands with resourceful use of raw materials. Promptly report equipment malfunction and necessary repairs to supervisor. Maintain all safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards. Maintain required productivity level at 100% standard. Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Warehouse experience preferred
- Equipment/Machine operator experience preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines in a demanding work environment
- Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrate proficiency in mathematics and mechanics
- Able to read, write clearly, speak and understand English
- Ability to read and understand label data
- Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses Physical Demands
- Must be able to independently lift/move up to 70 lbs
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent to continual basis in a production environment
- Reach above shoulder level frequently
- Must be able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, protective clothing, etc.
