Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role involves hands-on operation of manufacturing equipment in a food and beverage production environment. You will safely operate and monitor processing machinery used for tea extraction, blending, evaporation, and fermentation while also supporting the movement, packing, and storage of materials and finished goods. The position requires strong attention to safety and quality, comfort working around industrial equipment and chemicals, and the physical ability to perform repetitive, manual tasks in a non-climate-controlled facility. Responsibilities Safely operate and monitor manufacturing equipment used in tea extraction, blending, evaporation, and fermentation processes. Start up, shut down, and calibrate production equipment, including spinning cone columns (SCCs), decanters, centrifuges, microfilters, CT12 machines, blending systems, evaporators, and fermentation vessels. Load raw materials and ingredients into hoppers, tanks, and processing equipment according to production schedules and recipes. Perform quality checks by pulling, labeling, testing, and documenting product samples at required intervals. Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to maintain production uptime. Support shipping and receiving activities, including picking, receiving, and handling materials and finished goods. Assist with packing, storage, and material handling of finished and in-process products. Follow established food safety practices, including HACCP and sanitation procedures, to maintain a safe and compliant production environment. Adhere to safety protocols such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space procedures when inspecting or maintaining equipment. Perform basic preventative maintenance on production machines as needed. Work safely around chemicals, industrial equipment, and production noise while maintaining awareness of hazards. Maintain accurate documentation related to quality checks, equipment operation, and material movements. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and shipping deadlines. Essential Skills Previous or recent machine operating experience, preferably in a food and beverage environment, or similar industrial setting. Experience with shipping and receiving functions, including picking, receiving, and material handling. Familiarity with food safety practices, including HACCP and sanitation procedures. Ability to set up and run production machines and perform basic adjustments during operation. Ability to perform quality checks on an hourly basis and document results accurately. Capability to lift 50-60 pounds repetitively throughout the shift. Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods (8-12 hour shifts). Ability to perform repetitive bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching. Ability to climb stairs and ladders and access elevated or confined areas as required. Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, monitors, and inspect products for quality. Comfort working in high-temperature environments and tolerating heat. Comfort working around chemicals, industrial equipment, and production noise. Strong commitment to following safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and confined space protocols. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food, beverage, or chemical processing environments. Exposure to compounding processes in a manufacturing setting. Basic mechanical aptitude to support routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Attention to detail in labeling, documentation, and quality control activities. Ability to follow production schedules and recipes accurately. Strong reliability and willingness to work varying shifts within the posted schedule. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility, where temperatures can be high and exposure to heat is common. You will work around industrial processing equipment, chemicals, and consistent production noise, following established safety and food safety procedures at all times. The role requires prolonged standing and walking for 8-12 hour shifts, frequent lifting of 50-60 pounds, and repetitive physical movements such as bending, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders. Shift schedules include 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a structured and predictable work routine in a busy manufacturing environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eustis, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $20.50/hr.
