This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good documentation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic encapsulation machines according to SOPs and batch manufacturing records. Verify equipment, materials, and production areas are properly prepared before beginning each batch. Perform line clearance and verify that equipment and work areas are clean and ready for production. Load and monitor powder blends and empty capsules according to batch requirements. Adjust machine settings such as speed, fill weight, powder flow, and other operating parameters as required. Monitor machine performance throughout the production run and make appropriate adjustments to maintain consistent production. Perform equipment changeovers between products and batches. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), SOPs, and applicable FDA requirements, including 21 CFR Part 111. Properly handle and transfer raw materials and finished bulk product while preventing contamination and mix-ups. Assist with troubleshooting encapsulation equipment and escalate issues that require maintenance support.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing, machine operation, or production experience. Ability to read and follow written SOPs, work instructions, and batch records. Basic mathematical skills, including weights, measurements, percentages, and calculations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Ability to follow safety procedures and GMP requirements. Reliable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime when needed. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred:
1+ year of experience operating encapsulation equipment. Previous experience in dietary supplements, nutraceuticals, pharmaceutical, food, or other regulated manufacturing environments. Familiarity with automatic or semi-automatic capsule filling equipment. Knowledge of cGMPs and
FDA 21 CFR
Part 111. Experience completing batch manufacturing records. Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8-hour or longer shift. Ability to regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to work around powders and manufacturing equipment. Ability to wear required PPE and follow applicable safety requirements. Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
