Asphalt Milling Machine Operator — Experienced Applicants Only We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Milling Machine Operator who can safely operate milling equipment and produce a consistent surface that meets the project's specified depth, grade, and slope. Applicants must have prior hands-on experience operating an asphalt milling machine. Responsibilities and Requirements Operate an asphalt milling machine to remove existing pavement to the required depth and width while maintaining proper alignment, elevations, cross slopes, and smooth transitions. Understand how milling affects the next stages of road construction, including surface preparation, drainage, aggregate placement, paving, and compaction. Read and follow project grades and use the machine's grade control or guidance system to achieve the required finished surface. Monitor milling quality throughout the shift and make adjustments when pavement conditions, grades, or job requirements change. Coordinate with ground personnel and truck drivers to keep milling operations moving safely and efficiently. Perform routine equipment care, including cleaning the machine, greasing components, checking fluid levels, and reporting maintenance or mechanical issues. Follow jobsite safety procedures while working around heavy equipment, moving trucks, traffic, and other crew members. Be able to stand, walk, reach, kneel, climb, and maintain balance as needed to operate and maintain the machine. Work is performed outdoors in changing weather and jobsite conditions. Prior asphalt milling machine operating experience is required.
