MACHINE OPERATOR A
tree service machine operator typically handles equipment like grapple trucks, stump grinders, and chippers to support tree care and removal operations. They are responsible for operating machinery safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring job site safety. This includes tasks like loading and unloading equipment, clearing debris, and coordinating with tree trimming crews.
Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operator:
Safely operating various tree service machinery, including grapple trucks, stump grinders, chippers, and potentially aerial lift trucks. Job site
Prep:
Setting up equipment, securing work areas, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Equipment Maintenance:
Performing routine inspections, minor maintenance, and reporting any issues to supervisors.
Debris Removal:
Loading and disposing of branches, logs, and other debris generated from tree trimming activities.
Communication and Coordination:
Maintaining clear communication with tree trimming crews and foremen to ensure efficient and safe operations.
Safety Compliance:
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior experience operating tree service equipment is essential.
Physical Fitness:
The job requires physical strength and stamina.
Safety Awareness:
A strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety regulations.
Communication Skills:
Effective communication and teamwork skills are crucial.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues or safety hazards.
Valid Driver's License:
A valid driver's license is often required. CDL (Commercial Driver's License): May be required for operating certain heavy equipment like grapple trucks.
