Material Technician

Position Summary The Material Technician is responsible for feeding materials into or removing materials from automated machines or equipment operated by other workers. This role also includes inspecting materials and finished products for defects and ensuring compliance with required specifications. Key Responsibilities Feed materials and products into hoppers using hand tools and material-moving devices Maintain material feeders and color mix barrels at appropriate levels Load materials into mixers for blending processes Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and free of debris Remove obstructions using proper safety equipment Maintain and replace rolls of fiberglass tape as needed Follow written and verbal instructions regarding daily tasks and job assignments Operate pallet jack and sit-down forklift Maintain assigned equipment in safe and proper working condition Requirements High school diploma or GED required Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English Prior forklift and manufacturing experience preferred Ability to read and understand written instructions and labeling requirements Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift Ability to perform repetitive and continuous work Willingness to work overtime as required by business needs Work Environment Indoor production facility that is not climate-controlled (not air-conditioned or heated) Line work performed around loud equipment and machinery Physical Demands The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to perform essential job functions: Frequent bending at the waist and neck Grasping (power and simple) Pushing and pulling motions Reaching above, at, and below shoulder level Repetitive movement of shoulders, arms, and hands Constant standing Twisting of the neck and waist Continuous use of vision Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently Strong hand-eye coordination
