Apply to join New Era's team! The Embroidery Machine Operator is responsible for operating multiple head machines, creating a variety of logos and decorative designs on customized headwear products. This job takes place in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities Operate semiautomatic sewing machine with multiple-sewing heads to embroider names, letters, or decorative designs/logos on fronts, backs, middles, peaks, and other panelsRead work order to determine type and location of embroidery, as well as thread colors and color sequence neededCount parts, check for cloth defects, check for proper taping and cover stitches, and separate parts by sizesPlace spools of thread on the required spindle of each sewing head and draw thread through the machine, guides, tensions, and eye of the needle while adjusting thread tension by turning appropriate knobs to the left or right on the front of each sewing headPerform regular thread and needle changes, as necessaryDetermine start/finish point and foam requirements using the tape instruction sheet and tape sampleRetrieve applicable embroidery file noted on work order and loads it into embroidery machineKeep all sensitive matters confidentialOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Sewing skills preferredEnthusiastic positive person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistenceFunctions as a team player to achieve team goals, objectives, and deadlinesAble to perform well under pressure and adapt to change easilyAbility to consistently reach minimum production requirementsProven attention to detail and accuracySpecific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perceptionAbility to perform basic Mathematical skills and ability to read and understand measurements.

Ability to walk and stand for an 8-hour shifsAbility to repetitively lift, carry, and position objects weighing up to 30 lbsAble to work overtime, including Saturdays if neededAble to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions (appropriate footwear)Education and ExperienceExperience in a manufacturing environment preferredTravel RequirementThe location for this position is 100% on-site in Miami, FL 0% domestic and/or globalThe hourly range for this posted position is $15/hr (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Miami, FL.
