The Operator monitors the blending process for consistency and quality, maintains equipment, documents each batch, and flags discrepancies to supervisors to keep product safe and compliant. Key Responsibilities Precisely measure and blend raw materials according to product specifications and formulas, ensuring correct proportions and a uniform mixture. Lifting and maneuvering heavy drums (55+ lbs.). Operate, clean, and calibrate blending equipment (mixers, mills, granulators) to prevent contamination and ensure accurate blending. Monitor the blending process for consistency, uniformity, and adherence to particle size and blend homogeneity standards. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) meticulously for each blending process to ensure safe, effective, and repeatable operations. Maintain detailed batch records, including ingredient quantities, blending times, equipment settings, and any deviations from procedure. Identify and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, ingredient inconsistencies, or process deviations, escalating issues to supervisors as needed. Adhere to all safety and PPE protocols (gloves, masks, goggles, lab coats) and proper handling of hazardous materials and powders. Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work areas between batches to prevent cross-contamination. Maintain full compliance with GMP standards, including personal hygiene, grooming, and hand-washing protocols. Collaborate with Quality Control, Production Planning, and Warehouse staff to keep blending tasks on schedule. Support training of new operators on blending procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols. Reports directly to the Blending Supervisor.
