Machine Operator Job Description This role operates and supports distillation and production equipment in a regulated cGMP environment. The Machine Operator follows strict safety and quality procedures, assists with daily operations and cleaning of the production area, and ensures accurate handling, labeling, and documentation of materials throughout the production process. Responsibilities Adhere to all cGMP and safety requirements at all times while working in the production area. Assist the Lead Operator with daily production operations and routine cleaning of the production area. Ensure the correct materials are staged and prepared for distillation activities. Assist in still operation by charging equipment, transferring materials, drumming materials, and issuing or reporting materials from each distillation run. Accurately label all containers associated with the distillation process and ensure proper identification of materials. Perform regular cleaning of the production area in compliance with GMP standards and assist others with cleaning tasks as needed. Provide samples of product to Quality Control and laboratory personnel for testing when requested. Dispense work-in-process (WIP) materials into drums and containers of various sizes, label them correctly, and store them appropriately. Update and file all necessary production documentation accurately and precisely, ensuring records are complete and legible. Interpret and analyze client schedules to prioritize production activities appropriately. Verify that appropriate changes have been made to resolve customer-related issues and requirements. Update and maintain accurate customer records, including contracts, labeling, packaging, and stock requirements. Keep detailed records of customer interactions and transactions, including inquiries, complaints, comments, and actions taken. Essential Skills Demonstrated ability to adhere to cGMP and safety requirements in a production environment. Experience working in a production or general production environment. Familiarity with working in a GMP environment and following standardized procedures. Strong record-keeping skills, with the ability to update and maintain accurate production and customer documentation. Ability to interpret and analyze client schedules to prioritize tasks effectively. Capability to verify and confirm that changes have been implemented to address customer issues. Competence in maintaining accurate customer records related to contracts, labeling, packaging, and stock requirements. Ability to document customer interactions and transactions, including inquiries, complaints, comments, and resolutions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with distillation or similar process equipment is highly beneficial. Comfort handling WIP materials and transferring them into drums and various container sizes. Attention to detail when labeling and storing materials in a regulated environment. Strong organizational skills for managing documentation, filing, and record updates. Effective communication skills for coordinating with Quality Control, laboratory staff, and other production team members. The role involves regular physical activity, including reaching overhead, bending at the knees to file, grasping, pushing and pulling, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 25 pounds. You will work around distillation and related production equipment, handling drums and containers of various sizes. The environment requires consistent adherence to standard operating procedures and cleanliness standards, with frequent cleaning and organization of the production area. Dress and attire follow typical production and safety practices, including appropriate work clothing and any required personal protective equipment suitable for a regulated manufacturing setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Riverview, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
