Summary The Line Support role is responsible for ensuring continuous and efficient production by supporting line operations, supplying materials, packing cases, palletizing finished goods, and maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. Employee may be assigned to work multiple tasks as needed to support the operations. Duties and Responsibilities Understand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization in line with good 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practice. Participate in process improvement activities Participate in team forums, huddles and escalation sessions Perform repetitive tasks and follow instructions as needed Adhere to all Food Safety, Quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies. Work in a safe and responsible manner, exercising caution to avoid accidents, prevent injury to people or damage to the equipment Adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks assigned Notify Supervisor of any problems with equipment and product deviations. Perform any of the tasks assigned throughout the workday. Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisor. Additional Job Responsibilities Depending on the specific area the employee is responsible for various additional responsibilities would include the following. Production o Ensure that the proper product has been produced by verifying the label code date on product. o Prepare packaging for use with the product to be produced o Ensure the quality of the finished product and cleanliness of the container. o Supply the line with the correct packing items for the running product. o Assembling the boxes and labeling, proper use of the correct boxes and labels. o Follow and maintain visual standard specifications. o Notify Supervisor of any problems with equipment and product deviations. Prep o Prepare ingredients as per batch sheet and schedule. o Operate any specified equipment safely and in adherence to SOPs and food safety standards. o Eye inspection of the ingredients, reporting specification deviations. o Operate pallet or powered jacks as required Sanitation o Effectively execute sanitation procedures, cleaning and sanitizing production equipment and tools. o Trained and adheres to all Material Safety Dats Sheet (MSDS), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), HACCP and titration processes, policies and procedures. o Disassemble and reassemble machinery during sanitation process. o Completion of required paperwork and documentation Qualifications & Skills High school diploma/GED preferred Some manufacturing experience preferred with food manufacturing desirable Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Able to work on feet for extended periods of time Must be able to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Able to perform basic troubleshooting functions. Able to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Able to work on feet for extended periods of time. Reliable mode of transportation Must be comfortable performing repetitive tasks and following instructions. Basic math knowledge. Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills. Bilingual in English/Spanish is desirable. Supervisory Responsibility No supervisory responsibility Work Environment While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, moving regularly, and standing for hours at a time. Strong food odors from fresh cut produce could also be present. If work is in a refrigerated environment temperatures could be 38 F to 45 F. Proper insulated protective gear is provided. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in the production area, loud noisy machinery and equipment is typical.
