Mill Shop Operator:

This isn't desk work — it's hands-on craftsmanship that combines precision, pride, and artistry. You will be working alongside our skilled carpentry teams to assist in the creation, assembly, and trimming of custom marine decks for powerboats, luxury yachts and decommissioned battleships. As a Mill Shop Operator, your knowledge of woodworking skills will contribute craftsmanship and attention to detail establish the foundation for our world-class custom decks for boats and yachts.Job Summary:
In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating woodworking machinery to cut, shape, and prepare lumber and wood components according to production specifications. This role ensures efficient processing and accurate tracking of materials while maintaining high quality standards and a clean/safe work environment.Key Responsibilities:
Operate woodworking equipment such as planers, saws, molders, and sanders Cut, trim, and shape wood materials to specified dimensions Identify various wood species, grades, and quality characteristics Read and interpret work orders and document cut lists Measure materials using tape measures and other basic tools Sort, stack, and organize finished wood products Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning Electronically move bundles of wood and process material transactions utilizing the system of record Follow all safety procedures when operating machinery and tools Maintain a clean and organized work area Assist with inventory counts as needed Perform other duties as assignedPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with industrial woodworking equipment Forklift experience Familiarity with wood species, grain patterns, and grading Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment ERP experienceRequired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Ability to read measurements and use a tape measure accurately Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds without assistance Must be able to measure and perform basic arithmetical calculations.Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and accuracy Dependable with a strong work ethic Willingness to learn Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety guidelines Effective teamwork and communication skills Basic problem-solving abilitiesHours:
M-F; 6am - 2:30pm (occasional OT may be required)Benefits:
