In this role, you will operate advanced laser cutting machinery to shape and fabricate metal parts with exceptional accuracy. Your expertise will ensure that each project meets strict quality standards while adhering to safety protocols. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment dedicated to excellence and innovation. Duties Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines, ensuring precise calibration and alignment for each job. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) specifications to produce accurate parts. Program CNC laser machines using specialized software to optimize cutting paths and efficiency. Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on laser equipment to maintain optimal performance. Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools for quality inspection and measurement of finished parts. Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and materials for each project, ensuring proper machine operation and safety compliance. Follow safety standards rigorously during machine operation, including proper handling of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting tools, and other fabrication equipment. Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall part integrity. Maintain detailed records of production activities, machine settings, and inspection results for traceability and continuous improvement. Skills Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines with proficiency in CNC programming and setup. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math accurately. Familiarity with various manufacturing processes including welding, forming machines, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and press brake machines. Ability to use hand tools, measuring instruments, and tooling effectively for precision machining and assembly tasks. Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments; committed to maintaining a safe workspace at all times. Mechanical aptitude with understanding of electrical discharge machining (EDM), sheet metal fabrication, and metal forming techniques. Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine issues quickly and efficiently. Strong attention to detail for quality control through measurement (quality inspection) and precision measurement instruments. Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately for precise fabrication work; familiarity with blueprint reading is essential. Basic shop math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements; capable of performing measurements for quality assurance purposes.
