Be part of the team that makes every event memorable. John's Island Club is seeking a seasonal, full-time Banquet Technician Setter to set up and break down weddings, meetings, private dinners, and large banquets. This is a physically active role that requires lifting, moving, and assembling equipment and furniture both indoors and outdoors, while working closely with a supportive team to ensure every event runs seamlessly. Set-up dining rooms, private function rooms, patios, etc., according to banquet event orders (BEO's). Move tables, chairs, couches, podiums, dance floors, staging, grills, pop-up tents and any other equipment required for functions. Break-down and reset of all above areas, according to the BEO's. Set up and install audio/video equipment on-site for meetings, speakers, and live stream events.

Job Requirements:

Strong knowledge of various types of food service, beverage service and setup configurations. Able to move and lift chairs, tables, table-tops, pianos, carpeting, etc., up to 75-100 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis. Able to push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis. Basic understanding and ability to learn A/V equipment for in-house electronic and live streaming systems. Exercise excellent judgement and discretion with respect to the handling of confidential information and communications.

Special Working Conditions:

Requires both indoor and outdoor work. Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, reach overhead, lift, push and pull on a regular basis. Exposure to extreme cold, heat and humidity and bright sunlight. Willingness to work in a team environment. Schedule varies according to the needs to the Club. Weekends and holidays.
