Job Description
Do you enjoy working with your hands, using tools, and being part of a hardworking team? We're looking for a dependable Fabrication Helper. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a full-time position with benefits and opportunities to learn and advance. The Fabrication Helper is responsible for safely and efficiently operating fabrication and support equipment and tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the fabrication and production team with daily operations
- Accurately measure, mark & layout materials using a tape measure, square, caliper and other layout tools
- Reliably listen & follow instructions
- Safely and efficiently use a variety of hand and power tools including saws, punches, grinders, cutting torch, handheld plasma, and drills
- Set up saws and measure/position material for specified cuts, inspect, debur and remove finished parts ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Safely and efficiently operate an overhead crane
- General shop housekeeping - Load, unload, and organize and materials and tools, keep work areas clean
- Perform all work meeting safety, quality and productivity objectives
What We're Looking For:
- A reliable, motivated individual with a strong work ethic
- Someone who enjoys hands-on work and learning new skills
- Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and move for an entire shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
- Ability to read a tape measure and perform accurate measurements
- Detail oriented and communication/listening skills
- Experience operating saw, torch and overhead cranes preferred
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
