Description:
Position Summary :
Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Role Description:
Operation of crane to input raw materials for production. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Responsibilities:
Hands-on production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Operate control panels for raw material preparation. Operate electric and/or propane forklift truck. Operate raw materials monorail for aggregate and powder storage. Follow production recipe to ensure correct raw material quantities. Responsible for detailed cleaning of all required equipment during product color changes. Communicate with other Operators, Assistant Shift Leaders and Shift Leader. Ensure a clean and safe work area. Complete shift paper work. Assist in production as necessary. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge and Skills:
Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of basic mixing/batching processes, procedures, and machinery (ex. weighing units, transfer systems, mixing vessels) preferred. This is normally acquired through two to three years of mixing/batching process experience. Ability to identify quality and/or production deficiencies and resolve quickly. Experience in the safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Physical Demands:
May encounter the following chemicals: Acetone UPE resin Styrene Silica dust Peroxide Cobalt Silane Powdered pigments Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required. Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time. Ability to work overtime hours as needed with little or no notification. ?
