Facial Hair and Respirator Requirement:
Proper PPE is required to be worn by all employees in required areas. PPE may include the use of Facial Respirators for Operators. Per OSHA Respiratory Protection standard, paragraph 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A), respirators shall not be worn when facial hair comes between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interferes with valve function. Facial hair is allowed as long as it does not protrude under the respirator seal, or extend far enough to interfere with the device's valve function. Short mustaches, sideburns, and small goatees that are neatly trimmed so that no hair compromises the seal of the respirator usually do not present a hazard and, therefore, do not violate paragraph 1910.134(g)(1)(i). The General Operator position will be an entry level position for the Operations Department our Milledgeville or Ivey location, depending on availability. The General Operator will be trained on basic operations functions including forklift operation, material movements within the plant, product labeling, and assisting pour up and unloading operations. The main goal is to introduce new employees to the site and assess their suitability as an operator in either the Warehouse or Production areas. From General Operator, an individual would progress either to Chemical Operator 1 or Warehouse Operator.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Certify on forklift operation.
- Moving material to a storage location.
- Driving totes for Bulk Shipping, Filter Press, or Reactors.
- Can operate floor sweeper.
- Can operate floor scrubber
- Can operate pressure washer
- Affix labels on packaged material.
- Scan material between locations.
- Move totes/drums to stage shipments.
- Assist with pour up of material into totes, drums, and pails.
- Fill out packaging tickets
- Check scales with weight pallet.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
