Job Description

Description Sigvaris is currently looking for a Machine Operator I to join our Knitting Department in Peachtree City, GA. Reporting directly to the Supervisor and the Lead, the Machine Operator I accurately inspect products produced from circular knitting machines, identifies defects, and performs the support functions required to keep them operating efficiently.
SHIFT:
  • Monday to Thursday - 2nd shift: 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
  • During training (first few weeks of employment) - 1st shift: 6 a.
m. to 2 p.m. or 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
PAY PLUS BONUSES
  • $19.86 per hour with an increase every six months during the first year plus shift differential
  • Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter.
  • Subject to Company's Attendance Policy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Accurately inspects all assigned products produced on circular knitting machine to determine pass/fail criteria.
  • Verifies DQS sizing of products running on all machines in set 1/shift.
  • Identifies product defects, accurately codes and designates scrap issues.
  • Follows proper procedures to ensure product is knit to specifications.
  • Removes lint from knitting machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Meets the established production and quality goals as set by management.
  • Accurately records assigned jobs in the Company's business software system.
  • Cleans work area daily.
  • Supports physical inventory counts - Year End & Cycle Counts as instructed in accordance with set procedures and planning schedules.
  • Supports and follows all company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.
o Interacts with external and internal customers in a timely manner conducive to continued positive relationships. o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.
  • Demonstrates effective communication methods. o Appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions. o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications. o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers. o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal/external customer.
  • Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with
SIGVARIS
policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, 6S and Lean Manufacturing, and Federal, State and local laws.
  • Assists with the implementation of Lean/Kaizen initiatives or events in the department.
  • Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the
SIGVARIS
Quality System and Quality Policy.
  • Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.
Requirements EDUCATION and
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • A high school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Prefer someone with experience working in a manufacturing facility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Regularly required to stand and walk from machine to machine for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.
  • Occasionally required to lift light weights (less than 25 pounds).
  • Finger dexterity and hand coordination required.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
