Job Description
Position Summary The Box Maker is responsible for handcrafting and assembling boxes and packaging products using manual tools and techniques. Position Responsibilities Handcraft and assemble boxes from raw materials, ensuring adherence to quality and design specifications. Measure, cut, and fold materials accurately using manual tools (e.g., box cutters, rulers, and tape). Inspect finished boxes for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for strength and appearance. Maintain an organized and safe workspace, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly. Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiently manage workflow. Assist in inventory management by tracking material usage and alerting supervisors to low stock levels. Follow safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment. Participate in training sessions to improve skills and stay updated on packaging techniques. Essential Skills and Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in a manual assembly or packaging role is beneficial but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely. Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Effective communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs. Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed. Must be able to follow directions and perform manual labor. Reliable and punctual. Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team. Positions reporting to this person None Physical Demands and Work Environment Able to walk and stand, use arms and legs for long periods of time including wrist turning and finger manipulation. Employee stands frequently with tasks requiring consistent bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling to complete; Lift, carry and push/pull occasionally of up to 50 pounds is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperature conditions. Job locations can be consistently 40 degrees or below. The noise levels at work are moderate to loud and hearing protection is required.
