Shredder Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Shredder Operator responsible for operating shredding and packaging equipment, managing material transfer processes, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role involves maintaining accurate records, performing equipment maintenance, and training new operators. The position offers relief coverage across departments and requires effective communication with team members.

Shift Options & Pay Rates:

Day Shift:

7:00 AM - 7:00 PM $19.00 per hour

Night Shift:

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM $20.00 per hour Responsibilities Operate shredding and packaging equipment efficiently. Load, unload, store, sample, and transfer materials. Provide relief coverage across various departments. Perform minor equipment maintenance and report any issues promptly. Maintain accurate records and documentation related to operations. Sanitize and clean equipment and facilities to ensure a clean environment. Train new shredder operators in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards. Communicate effectively with team members to facilitate smooth operations. Participate actively in safety, quality, and productivity initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience. At least 6 months of physical labor experience. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with forklift operation and material handling. Familiarity with RF scanning and warehouse production processes. Why Work Here? Temperatures can range from 40 degrees in winter to 80 degrees in summer. Dress code requires jeans, t-shirt, and steel-toed shoes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
