A Manufacturing Machine Operator operates machinery used in a manufacturing facility, including a range of machines used for the production or transport of goods.
Be capable of performing a variety production tasks; involving sawing, machining, assembling, and shipping of IBI products. Operation of simple machines, test equipment, select computer skills, and participation in ISO practices is also required. Ability to perform any other activities that may be required due to new processes, procedures, or new products introduced into production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Ability to read and follow prints, work instructions, and test procedures to correctly produce IBI parts, assemblies, and finished goods. Operation of table saw, router, arbor press, Bridgeport mills, and CNC machining center; to cut, machine, and assemble IBI manufactured parts. Solvent welding/gluing of cut & machined acrylic pieces; as well as use of fixtures and other production aids during these processes. Assembly of intricate parts and assemblies to produce high quality laboratory products. Operate fork lift as well as complete required training for said operation of fork lift. Filling, labeling, and packaging of non-hazardous IBI reagents from bulk containers. Handle, receive, and ship IBI products and reagents; with particular awareness of hazardous materials and their requirements. Engage in and comply with all IBI Quality Management System requirements; including participating in audits and/or complying with resolving any findings in a timely manner.
Other Duties and Responsibilities :
Manufacturing Operators to be HazMat qualified to properly handle hazardous materials for stocking, storage, shipping, and receiving. Operators will be trained in proper packaging and shipping procedures for all shipments; with particular focus on hazardous materials for ground, air, and international shipments. Operator will complete HazMat Training Modules and be tested for HazMat packaging/shipping competency while achieving acceptable passing scores for proof of competency. Manufacturing Operator to become proficient in operation of resident company software; DBA, as required to perform simple tasks within production.
Qualifications :
Education and/or experience: High School Diploma or equivalent, literate in English language. Experience in manufacturing, fabrication, and/or assembly preferred.
Physical Demands :
