5:00am-5:00pm or 5:00pm-5:00am (Fri-Sun) QPS Employment Group has a great Bindery position at a company in Mount Pleasant, IA. This is a weekend shift position with the opportunity for hire. Bindery Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Operate and maintain equipment per job instructions.
- Meet or exceed production standards while maintaining customer quality requirements.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all current Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate job status, production updates, and issues during shift changes.
- Work with urgency to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Continue learning improved processes to increase productivity.
- Facilitate teamwork across team members and shifts.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support team success.
- Perform machine adjustments according to job specifications.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues with minimal delay.
- Communicate developing problems and corrective actions to management.
- Maintain consistent production output and quality standards.
- Support shift-to-shift communication for operational continuity.
Bindery Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2 years of manufacturing experience (preferred).
- Ability to stand for long periods (10-12 hours on concrete).
- Frequent bending and repetitive motion.
- Lift/move up to 25 lbs. regularly and 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Demonstrated manual dexterity.
- Ability to install, maintain, and repair equipment safely.
- Knowledge of predictive and preventative maintenance systems preferred.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Willingness to learn new processes and take ownership of quality.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
