Job Description
at The Sherwin-Williams Company in Cary, Illinois, United States Job Description Sets up and operates machinery and equipment that manufactures coatings or paint roller covers. Computes amounts and/or weights of finished products from standard formula, and monitors filling/finishing process. Inspects finished product to ensure it meets specifications following standard operating procedures. Maintains record of finished product issued and inventory of supplies on hand and receives raw materials.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and vendors. Follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for work area. Uses machines and hand equipment to package and/or assemble finished product. Perform setup of machines and equipment to prepare for production. Starts machine and observes operation to detect malfunctions; makes minor adjustments to machine to set guides or clear away damaged product; stops machine and reports malfunction to supervisor. Feeds product to conveyors, and unloads packaged product. Replenishes packaging supplies and mounts supplies on feeding devices. Inspects completed package to ensure that product is packaged according to specifications. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. May be required to load and unload trucks manually or using a forklift truck Minimum Requirements Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future Preferred Qualifications Have at least three (3) months of experience working at the Cary, IL site in the Operating Utility Technician role Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating machinery in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating packaging equipment such as robotics, filling machines, case packers, or labelers, etc. Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring gauges, dials, or other machinery indicators to ensure proper operation of machinery Have at least one (1) year of work experience monitoring the quality of raw materials and/or finished goods Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacuum-hoists, drum dolly's, conveyor belts, etc.) Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
