Job Description

Machine Operator Dekalb, IL Overview We are hiring multiple Machine Operators to support our blasting and fabrication operations in a fast‑paced steel manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for hands‑on professionals with experience in metal fabrication, surface preparation, and industrial machine operation who take pride in producing high‑quality work. Responsibilities Set up and operate a variety of fabrication machines to process sheet metal. Perform abrasive blasting to clean, prep, and finish steel surfaces. Complete work orders accurately while meeting all quality and production standards. Grind, sand, and handle materials as required throughout the fabrication process. Conduct visual and dimensional quality inspections to ensure product specifications. Collaborate effectively with production and fabrication team members. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move raw materials and finished products safely. Assist with CNC machine operations and general fabrication tasks as needed. Maintain equipment, work areas, and tools in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Essential Skills 1-2 years of manufacturing and fabrication experience Familiarity with blasting, grinding, and power tools Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks Forklift experience preferred Ability to read blueprints and follow machine procedures Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to perform basic data entry. Experience in steel or metal fabrication Knowledge of CNC machinery and surface finishing standards Strong attention to detail and safety awareness Available Shift 5:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday - Thursday $20.81/hr Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is a large manufacturing plant with normal exposure to noise, dust, and hazards associated with a high-traffic, heavy machinery setting. Typical work hours are Monday through Thursday, with possible overtime. Work hours may change at Management's discretion with prior notice. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dekalb, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.81 - $20.81/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
