Compensation:
Hourly position. Pay range to be discussed based on experience. Lakeland Pallets is hiring an experienced Saw Operator / Cut Room Associate for our Geneva, IL shop. This position is responsible for cutting lumber to required sizes for pallet, crate, skid, and custom wood packaging orders. This is an experienced position. We need someone who can read a tape measure, follow cut sheets, operate saws safely, and keep material moving accurately to production with limited basic training. Responsibilities Cut lumber according to cut sheets, job specs, and production needs Read a tape measure accurately Operate saws and related shop equipment safely Verify board sizes, quantities, and material quality before sending parts to builders Stage cut material clearly and accurately for production Keep cut parts organized by job, customer, and order Identify bad boards, shortages, incorrect material, or unclear paperwork Communicate issues to the supervisor before they become production problems Keep the cut room clean, organized, and safe Follow machine safety procedures, lockout/tagout rules, and shop safety standards Work steady and maintain production pace without cutting corners Required Experience Prior saw operation, lumber, pallet, crate, construction, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar production experience Ability to read a tape measure accurately Experience using saws, hand tools, and shop equipment Ability to follow cut sheets, specs, and production paperwork Ability to work safely around machinery Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow directions, priorities, and safety procedures Physical Requirements / Shop Conditions Stand and work on your feet for most of the shift Lift, carry, bend, reach, push, and pull throughout the day Handle lumber and cut material Work around saws, nail guns, compressors, forklifts, and other shop equipment Work in a warehouse/shop environment with noise, dust, and changing temperatures Use required PPE and follow all safety procedures Benefits Benefits available based on company policy, including health, dental, and vision insurance after 90 days, and a 401(k) plan after 1 year.
