Job Description The Spray Dry Machine Operator manufactures flavor products, including powders, spray-dried materials, liquids, emulsions, and extracts, with a primary focus on dry-blend goods. You assemble batches according to detailed batch tickets, operate production equipment such as mixers, spray dryers, and blending tanks, and ensure every product meets strict food safety, quality, efficiency, and accuracy standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret raw material labels, and strict adherence to safety and labeling requirements to produce the correct finished product quantity and packaging. While prior food manufacturing experience is ideal, candidates with any machine operating background who are eager to learn can succeed in this position, especially within the spray-dry department. Responsibilities Assemble batches by following detailed batch tickets and formulations to produce batches Operate production machinery, including mixers, spray dryers, blending tanks, and related equipment, in a safe and efficient manner. Monitor machines during operation, make basic adjustments as needed, and ensure consistent product quality throughout each batch. Read and verify labels on raw materials and finished goods to ensure correct ingredients, lot numbers, and label requirements for each batch. Measure, weigh, and add ingredients accurately to meet formulation specifications and maintain product consistency. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety procedures at all times to maintain a clean and compliant production environment. Adhere to all safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and promptly report any issues or hazards. Essential Skills Physical ability to lift and move up to 50-pound boxes and containers as part of regular duties. Willingness to work 2nd, 3rd, or weekend night shifts as scheduled. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Island Lake, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
