CNC Machine Operator Job Description This role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce precision parts, primarily for the aerospace industry. You will interpret blueprints and technical drawings, monitor machine performance, and inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards. The position offers hands-on training in CNC machining, opportunities for overtime, and a path to build a long-term career in machining within a small, close-knit production team. Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC machines, including Okuma lathes and Seiki mills, to manufacture precision parts. Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, schematics, and technical drawings to determine machining requirements. Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools to verify they meet quality and dimensional specifications. Monitor machine operations during production and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality and production efficiency. Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and promptly report any mechanical or operational issues. Use mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve basic machine or process problems. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with safety regulations and company procedures. Complete production logs, inspection records, and other documentation accurately and on time. Collaborate with fellow operators and supervisors to meet daily and weekly production goals. Handle general production tasks, including packing and preparing finished parts for shipment or next-stage processing. Safely operate and handle power tools and hand tools as required for machining and production tasks.
