$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Job description: Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is looking to hire directly for a Sheeter Operator position in Bolingbrook, IL . The Sheeter Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining sheeting equipment used to convert roll stock or large sheets into cut sheets that meet customer specifications for size, quality, and quantity. This position monitors production, performs quality checks, troubleshoots basic mechanical issues, and works with team members to maintain efficient workflow and minimize downtime. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Set up sheeter machines according to job orders, production schedules, and standard operating procedures. Install and align rolls, knives, blades, and other tooling according to job specifications. Input and adjust machine settings including length, width, squareness, sheet count, and speed to meet quality and productivity requirements. Coordinate with material handlers, helpers, and forklift operators to ensure proper loading and unloading of materials and finished pallets. Inspect finished sheets for defects including tears, scuffs, miscuts, edge damage, skew, and contamination. Make machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards and reduce waste. Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot routine issues, escalating complex mechanical problems to maintenance as needed. Participate in shift handoffs by providing accurate updates on job status, machine condition, and pending issues. Perform routine operator-level maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and checking for visible wear or damage. Report equipment malfunctions promptly and provide detailed information to support troubleshooting. Follow all safety, quality, and food safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area according to housekeeping standards.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating sheeters or similar converting equipment in a manufacturing, printing, or packaging environment strongly preferred. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8- to 12-hour shift. Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and handle materials. Ability to lift, push, or pull materials and products up to approximately 50 pounds. Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
Schedule:
Full-time position supporting a 24/6 production schedule. Overtime and weekends required based on production needs.
