Machine Operator, 2nd Shift

We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in Peru, IL. New employees can earn $63K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! Machine Operator, 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with possible overtime SUMMARY Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Operate overhead cranes and perform daily operator inspections. Operate forklift. Attach appropriate labels and tags to products Maintain work area and equipment in clean orderly condition. Work safely and follow company safety policies. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor including, but not limited to, cleaning, scrap removal and other tasks. Standing for most of shift Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls. Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Requirements:

Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Ability to obtain valid crane and forklift certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent communication with others to exchange information. Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another. Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions. Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Constantly thinking and processing information. Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
