Job Title:
Machine Operator Job Description This role supports the safe and efficient operation of production machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment. The Adjuster Assistant ensures machines are properly supplied and set up, maintains a clean and organized work area, and assists with packaging and basic mechanical tasks on 2nd or 3rd shift. Responsibilities Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the shift. Keep production machines supplied with paper, ink, and glue to ensure continuous operation. Change paper rolls as needed to support ongoing production. Change printing plates according to production requirements and job specifications. Assist with packing finished products as needed to meet production schedules. Follow detailed written and verbal instructions for machine setup and operation. Work collaboratively alongside adjusters and other team members to support machine operation. Use basic hand tools to perform minor adjustments and support machine setup. Monitor work for accuracy and quality, ensuring products meet required standards. Perform tasks that require regular walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the shift. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience in production or machine operating roles. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools. Ability to pass a math, ruler, and mechanical test. Capability to meet physical requirements, including frequent walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate setup and quality output. Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently. Ability to work effectively alongside other adjusters and team members. Good and stable work history, including at least 2 years with one employer within the past 10 years. High level of motivation and reliability. Willingness to work 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.) or 3rd shift (10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.). Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous machine operating experience in manufacturing or production environments. Experience in packaging, metals, printing, or converting industries. General production, assembly, or general labor experience supporting machine operation. Experience with machine setup, including changing rolls and plates. Familiarity with printing or mechanical production processes. Comfort working in environments where inks and related materials are used. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
